Job description
As a Hadoop Administrator, you will be responsible for the complete implementation and the ongoing administration of the Hadoop infrastructure.
Your activities will include: Cluster maintenance as well as creation and removal of nodes, HDFS support and maintenance, Cluster Monitoring and Troubleshooting. You will also be in charge of designing, implementing and maintaining security.
You will collaborate with the application teams to install operating systems and Hadoop updates, patches & version upgrades.
You will be exposed to different sectors and company functions and will work most of the time at client sites in Belgium.
Profile
- At least 2 years’ experience working with Hadoop
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience using Unix systems engineering with strong hands-on experience in Linux
- Practical experience in data warehousing
- Passionate about data and/or statistical analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapting to new environments
- Strong analytical competencies and excellent creative problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English and Dutch and/or French
