Job description

Keyrus Data Intelligence, the Consulting line of services of the Keyrus Group, is looking for a manager to strengthen its (big) Data Analytics practice in Belgium in order to face the “Big Data” challenges of tomorrow.

The Keyrus Group provides major international companies as well as mid-market companies in Belgium with innovative solutions as there are Customer Intimacy, Sales & Marketing Campaign Effectiveness, Behavioural Targeting, Social Analytics, Data Monetization, etc. 

The strategic challenges for our customers, in the context of digital business transformation, include the multiplication of the communication channels and the changes in customer behaviour associated with an explosion in the amount of information available. These put a burden on Strategy, Marketing & Sales departments.

Keyrus is addressing customer’s issues through unique solutions combining business and technology components, relying on Data Scientists and Big Data technologies.


The Head of Data Science plays a leadership position in the data science department and is responsible for overseeing activities of the data science team ensuring proper execution of duties and alignment with the overall strategic vision. The Head of Data Science is responsible for business development and actively looks for new opportunities and participates in pre-sales tracks.

In this position, he/she drive education and evangelization of data sciences throughout the company and at our clients by communicating the vision and use cases of advanced analytics.

This unique role will engage you with the business by addressing strategic and tactical questions through the use of data analytics and data visualization techniques, including pattern detection, graph analysis or statistical analysis. You’ll be challenged to propose innovative ways of addressing problems with alternative options and creative and workable solutions. You will also use the new visualisation tools to present your validated findings in a clear and precise manner to non-technical people.

You will be exposed to different sectors and company functions. You will work most of the time at client sites in Belgium, occasional travelling abroad is possible.

The Head of Data Science also works collaboratively with the senior Data and Analytics management and serves as a trusted advisor to this executive leadership in the creation and deployment of useful insights that inform and activate business strategies across the business. 

Profile

  • Master or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or any related field
  • Passionate about data and/or statistical analysis, with mathematics and causal modelling skills
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of working experience preferably working as a Senior Data Scientist
  • The candidate must also have a proven and successful experience track record of leading high-performing data analyst teams
  • Strong programming skills such as Java and/or Python
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling and data mining is required as well as statistical tools such SAS, R or Matlab
  • Knowledge of machine learning, Hadoop or other Big Data frameworks is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: you have the ability to communicate results clearly to non-technical colleagues
  • A suitable candidate for this position will be a team-builder, be result-oriented, be proactive and self-driven requiring minimal supervision, be open and welcoming to change, be a creative and strategic thinker, have innovative problem-solving skills, be highly organized, have an ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks prioritize and meet tight deadlines, and demonstrate calmness in times of uncertainty and stress.
  • The candidate should have experience with business development and pre-sales activities
  • Experience in Data Visualisation (knowledge of Business Intelligence Reporting & Analysis tools)
  • Overall knowledge of Business Intelligence is an asset
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or French and English
